Wellness diet

What is Wellness Diet?

The majority of people define diet as a way to lose weight. Others claim that it is a proper nutrition and only a few, for the time being, perceive diet as a lifestyle. Did you know that the word diet comes from the ancient Greek word ‘δίαιτα’ which means: lifestyle?

Physical activity as well as control of body weight constitute the basis of the latest food pyramid on which principles of healthy lifestyle are based. These are the basic elements in the diet as they have a huge impact on health and nutrition. They also regulate the impact of food on the body. Such a model, offering a wider perspective, is already similar to a lifestyle, not only to nutrition. However, this pyramid as well as most other diets do not take into account the psychological approach to nutrition, although a new branch of science – psychodietetics – has emerged and become popular .

What is Wellness Diet characterized by?

Wellness Diet – as a lifestyle – includes elements of balanced nutrition which take into account all healthy products under the slogan: ‘Eat everything that is healthy!’ It introduces daily plan that includes, in addition to regular meals, light exercises and weight control. It takes into account the impact of nutrition on the psyche – elimination of bad habits and phobias, as well as stress control.

Wellness Diet is based on the idea of wellness healthy lifestyle and should prevent many diseases that arise as a result of inadequate nutrition, lack of activity and psychological imbalance. It should also help achieve well-being – wellness – which immunises us against many diseases, depression and can consequently prolong healthy life.

Our diet, in accordance with the principles of wellness, is not draconian. We are required only to avoid products harmful to health, to eliminate bad habits, take care of physical, mental and spiritual condition. It is designed for healthy people as well as overweight and obese ones who want to lose weight and keep the effects for the rest of their lives.

We have prepared a special dieting programme for people who are overweight and obese. It is divided into two stages, including elimination of insulin resistance and reduction of body weight. Stage III, for all people, means healthy nutrition combined with physical, mental and spiritual activity that can be our lifestyle practically for good.

What distinguishes Welnness Diet?

Our diet should be treated as a style of life and nutrition rather than as an ad hoc method to lose weight. There are hundreds of miracle diets the effects of which disappear quickly, but our diet is not one of them. Such diets drastically reduce the number of calories or restrict the intake of particular product groups. We should avoid them because they are often low in important nutrients. We should not follow them for an extended period of time. Besides, they do not teach correct eating habits and can lead to the yo-yo effect (gaining and losing weight occur cyclically) that can be dangerous for our physical and mental health.

It is you who through conscious choices will decide how much you want to change your shape of the body, appearance and lifestyle.

For whom is our programme?

It is practically for all people of different age groups who want to live really healthily and visit doctors only for diagnostic purposes. Our programme is in accordance with the idea that healthy ageing begins in healthy childhood.

It is both for slim and obese people who want to have a normal shape of the body and weight and who want to maintain them for good by means of healthy lifestyle.
